Quick Take

The Leap V2 is rated to 400 lb against the Pro’s 275 lb. It also lists a 24/7 rating and 12 years of Steelcase coverage, against Branch’s 7 years. A remanufactured Leap V2 from Crandall sits between the two at about one and a half times the Pro.

Where to Buy Each One

The Pro is listed at the same price direct from Branch and on Amazon. Branch direct orders have a 30-day return window, and a flat $40 return shipping fee per chair comes out of the refund. Branch pays return shipping only for damaged items reported within three days of receipt.

Crandall lists free returns on its remanufactured chairs, the Leap V2 included.

Arms, Seat and Height

Narrow shoulders favor the Leap on paper: its arms pull in to a 12.75 inch gap, while the Pro’s arm width adjusts with no range listed. The Pro does add a fifth axis, pad width, which the Leap’s 4D arm spec doesn’t include.

Branch does not print the Pro’s seat ranges, so measure the seat depth you need with the office chair seat depth guide and ask Branch whether the Pro reaches it. Over 5’11”, add the tall cylinder to the order.

Lumbar Support

When the lumbar push feels too strong, the Leap V2 lets you turn it down with a separate firmness dial. On the Pro you pull it back or take it out.

Tilt and Recline

The Leap V2 reclines on its Natural Glide System and lists a separate 5-position tilt lock, so it’s the pick for holding the back at a chosen angle. The Pro has the edge on head support while reclined: it takes an optional two-axis headrest.

Other Chairs to Compare

Branch Pro vs Series 2

If you’re over 275 lb and the Leap V2 costs more than you want to spend, look at the Series 2. It’s rated to 400 lb and sells for roughly half the new Leap’s price, though it has no headrest option.

The two Steelcase chairs side by side: Leap V2 vs Series 2

Leap V1 vs Leap V2

The older Leap costs less remanufactured: Crandall lists one below the Pro’s new price. The trade is less arm depth travel than the V2.

Branch Ergonomic Chair vs Pro

Start here when forward tilt and arm pad width won’t change how you work. The standard chair has 8 adjustment points to the Pro’s 14 and 3D arms.

Secretlab Titan Evo vs Branch Pro

A head pillow comes in the box, and Secretlab lists a recline of 85 to 165 degrees. It costs about a third more than the Pro, with a 3-year warranty extendable to 5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a remanufactured Leap V2’s warranty the same as a new one’s?
No. Crandall’s 12-year warranty covers parts but not labor, and only for the original owner in the US; it can’t be transferred. A new Leap V2 carries Steelcase’s own Limited Lifetime terms.
